We aim to provide stability and security for young women in Kampala because we believe in helping them move forward.
In Uganda, education is all private, and many of our beneficiaries cannot afford the US$50 per year tuition. By helping to fund their education and providing them with school supplies, we aim to instill hope and structure to these young women’s lives.
We fear that without such a foundation, our beneficiaries would turn towards child marriage. These damaging unions traditionally result in higher rates of sexual violence, HIV/AIDS transmission, maternal mortality, influent mortality, mental health issues, and domestic violence; according to to a 2005 UNICEF study, 36% of child brides in Uganda thought it was acceptable for their husbands to beat them.
By providing a more consistent schedule and life skills through our projects, we hope that we can help our beneficiaries improve their mental health and confidence, give them more structure in their lives, and help them build a bridge out of poverty.
Thank you in advance for your generous support of our projects. We are a small, brand-new organization and we work closely alongside these young women every single day. Our beneficiaries will know about your support, and it will mean a lot to them. We look forward to welcoming you to our community.
